The 2009 Chevrolet Aveo lineup upgrades to a restyled hatchback, a slight (3 hp) increase in horsepower and now comes standard with OnStar. The Aveo is Chevrolet’s smallest car, and is available as a 4-door sedan or a 4-door hatchback (Aveo5), in LS and top-line LT trims. All Aveo models are equipped with a 106-hp 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine, up 3 hp from 2008. A 5-speed manual is standard; a 4-speed automatic is optional. The engine features a drive-by-wire electronic throttle control and returns 34 highway mpg with the five-speed manual. Safety equipment includes ABS and front-side airbags.
