Very smooth to ride with a great flat walk, smooth natural running walk, racking gait and a lovely lope to go with it all. You pick the speed and he will do it for you. Dan is very well behaved and is ready for any challenge you point his way. He has a cooperative attitude, willing spirit and a no non-sense personality. Dan has been trained right and knows to listen and trust his rider. No monkey business just team work. He is confident, sure footed and eager to please. SMILES is a gorgeous bay tobiano with one of the prettiest thick mixed tails I have ever seen. He has nice large hooves, a pretty head and is proportional in his shape. SMILES enjoys people and will come to you where ever you are. His ground manners are excellent. He is easy to catch, halter, lead, clip, bathe, tack up, load/unload and trailer. On the trail SMILES is great! He will go out alone, load, follow, cross anything you put in his path, climb hills, carefully pick his way down steep embankments and he is not spooky either. SMILES is very level headed and has been exposed to deer, turkeys, birds, dogs, bikes, motorcycle, cars, traffic, schools letting out, construction... He is very sure in himself and knows his job. SMILES stands to mount/dismount, walks and gaits on a loose rein, listens to leg and verbal cues and has a soft easy to cue mouth. SMILES is very quiet and enjoys being around people too. He will stand for hours to be bathed, groomed and handled. He always greets you in the stall and is always pleasant to be around.SMILES would be an excellent trail mount for just about any level rider from beginners on up.
