Hollyhock Hill Restaurant has been a tradition in “family-style” dining since 1928, remaining as one of the few such restaurants of its type in the United States. Consistently ranked among the top restaurants in Indianapolis, Hollyhock Hill is famed for its superior “county-style” cuisine and high standards of service.

 

Hollyhock Hill is currently accepting applications to join its SERVICE STAFF. The primary responsibilities of this position will be to serve patrons courteously, efficiently & in a manner appropriate to the standards expected in a high quality restaurant such as Hollyhock Hill. The service staff at Hollyhock Hill work as a TEAM to ensure superior service quality for EVERY guest.

 

Duties include, but are not limited to the following. Present menus to patrons and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request. Manage food orders via computer system. Work with Kitchen staff to deliver selected meals to patrons. Check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems. Provide information about the restaurant and menu. Explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods. Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes. Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters, and take them to kitchen for cleaning. Serve food and/or beverages to patrons; Stock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and linens.

 

Interested candidates should have experience in the hospitality industry and a strong sense of customer service and teamwork. A valid Indiana Alcohol and Beverage Commission Server’s Permit is required. Hollyhock Hill offers an extensive "on-the-job" training program and quality benefits. Compensation includes both an hourly rate plus gratuity.

 

Service staff members are expected to be available Tuesday-Friday 4:00pm - close, Saturday 3:00pm - close and Sunday 11:00am to close. Hollyhock Hill is also open on Thanksgiving, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day and New Year's Eve. Luncheon hours may also be available.
