FEATURES:

FALLBOARD:        Soft-Close System (lowers fallboard slowly)
PEDALS:              (1) Una Corda*   (2) True Sostenuto**  (3) Damper
CASTERS:            Heavy Duty Solid Brass

*In a grand piano, the Una Corda pedal, when activated, shifts the entire action to the right, realigning the hammers so they strike only one string (in Italian, "una corda" means "one string") on the bichord unisons and two strings on the trichord unisons.  This reduces volume slightly, and by half-pedalling the Una Corda you may also acheive variations in tone color, as different sections of the hammer head are brought into contact with the string.

**All professional concert grands have the true Sostenuto feature.  Unlike the Damper pedal, which raises all dampers from the strings at once for full sustain, the Sostenuto pedal only captures the notes that are played before the pedal is depressed, allowing you to have full control over which notes you want sustained, and which notes you wish to clearly articulate.

PERFORMANCE:

Anton Rubinstein is our exclusive brand name: it is one of the best sounding, best playing grand pianos available that was designed in the German tradition by Lothar Schell.  All Rubinstein pianos are built in Beijing by China's oldest and most reputable manufacturer of grand pianos, Xinghai Corp LTD.  In addition to building the world's largest grand (a 15' concert grand that's in continuous use in Beijing's futuristic Concert Hall), Xinghai also builds several models for a major Japanese piano manufacturer, and has a world-wide distribution of over 30,000 pianos yearly throughout Europe, Asia and North America under several additional brand names (which we have to refrain from mentioning here--please email or call us for more details!).

The Rubinstein B is the same model we loaned to jazz pianist Johnny O'Neal when he played several concerts here in Jacksonville (Atlantic Theater, December 2006), and afterwards he was quoted as commenting that, "I normally request a Yamaha--but I was pleasantly surprised by this piano!"  The Rubinstein B that was used earlier this year in Joel Pace's "Pianothon", a local fundraising piano-recital event, also elicited these glowing reviews from piano teachers and audience alike: "The piano was awesome"..."The sound was grand!"  What makes the Rubinstein play and sound so wonderful is its departure from the bright, high-tension scale designs that have often characterized small grand pianos in the last half-century, as well as its Renner-inspired action design that is responsive to the pianist's most delicate nuances of articulation.

Everyone who plays the model B is impressed with its rich, warm bass, strong tenor, and clear treble.  Never harsh or brittle sounding, the Rubinstein hearkens back to the German pianos of the day when its namesake, the great composer and concert pianist Anton Rubinstein, toured the concert halls of Europe with his passionate and brilliant performances on pianos that were able to let the artist's emotions flow through them unhindered.  To help acheive this sensitivity and artistic serendipity, we take from 6 - 8 hours to carefully prep and tune every Rubinstein grand, ensuring that it has reached its optimum performance potential.

The key weight is set to be moderately firm (but not excessively heavy), allowing you maximum control over dynamics and expression.  The model B boasts a large soundboard by comparison with other 5'07" grands (2,151 sq. inches), facilitating bridge placement and other important aspects of scale design that give it the power and projection necessary for use in recording studios, ensembles, church sanctuaries, restaurants and other public venues--but it's also perfect for living room or piano room.

LOCAL DELIVERY

Local ground-floor delivery is FREE.

NATIONWIDE DELIVERY

If you live outside of our local delivery area, we will deliver your piano to you FREE via one of the industry's most experienced professional piano haulers, Fragile Freight.  Unlike cheaper, multi-stage delivery processes some internet piano sellers may offer (which involves transferring the piano from a long-haul mover to a local mover), our nationwide piano delivery is virtually door-to-door.  No freight transfer is involved between different carriers or freight handlers, so your piano remains safely in the care of Fragile Freight for the entire trip.  This delivery method costs a bit more, but we know it is well worth the additional care given to your piano.

Please Note:  If delivery to your location involves elevators, staircases (or more than 4 steps up), steep grades, sharp turns in narrow hallways, unpaved access, or any other unusual conditions, there may be an upcharge to cover costs of extra manpower and equipment.  If you think your delivery conditions may provide any unusual challenges, please call us toll-free at 1-888-4-1-PIANO (1-888-417-4266).

FREE PIANO STORAGE - UP TO 4 MONTHS!

If your new home, business or church is in the final stages of construction and not yet ready to accomodate your new piano, you can take advantage of our 5,000 square foot climate-controlled piano storage facility FREE for up to 4 months.  All grand pianos are stored on their legs (never on their sides) to prevent action parts from mis-aligning or warping, and all pianos are blanketed and/or poly-foam wrapped for complete protection.
