Winnipeg, Manitoba R3C 1L7 Job Services DescriptionMoved to Winnipeg in July 2007. I am 40 yrs. old and originally from a small community in Newfoundland. I have no family here. Attended university and received a bachelor's degree in english and history and a degree in education. Cannot find a job that I can survive on because of rent cost, other bills, and am an insulin dependent diabetic requiring special diet on four injections daily. Have been to a lot of employers, but they say I am too educated or no work. I have sent out a stack of job applications and can't find anything decent enough to survive on. Trying to get off government assistance because I want to be happy and have a quality of life. If I could get at least $12.00 an hour, I could manage. Have a wealth of experience as a teacher, radio announcer, tourism liason worker, and have worked in different areas of public relations. I have no criminal record, a clean child registry check, WHIMIS, and a NVCI certificate. Personally, I am ashamed I am living below the poverty line. I am a hard worker, and despite being embarassed in posting this ad, I am swallowing my pride because I do not want to end up homeless and hungry. Hoping someone will read my ad and respond with compassion and make me an offer of employment. I have a resume and references to provide upon request.
